Support Brittany Henley in the 2008 Chicago Marathon

Brittany Henley

I started running marathons 3 years ago. I began running to fulfill a personal goal of simply finishing a marathon. Then, my beloved uncle was diagnosed with cancer. While his struggle was short, I couldn't give up hope in helping to support him and find a cure. Last year I ran for him! He passed away exactly 4 weeks before the marathon. Considering last year's Chicago marathon was 90 degrees, I can't help but believe that he helped me cross the finish line. In fact, I was completely unaware they had closed the race. This year, however, I began training for no other reason than beating my pathetic time from last year....that was until my ex-boyfriend told me about Geoff's new adventure. I knew right away I would run to help support his cause and support people all around the world who deal with the day-to-day struggles Geoff deals with. So this year, again, I run with a mission to support fund-raising to find a cure for and to raise awareness of Spinal Cord Injuries.
