SCIS (Spinal Cord Injury Sucks, NFP) is pleased to announce its 2009 Chicago Marathon fundraising effort.  15 runners have signed up and are training hard in hopes of your support for our important cause.  Last year we raised $50,000 dollars for Dr. Stephen Davies laboratory at the University of Colorado-Denver for neuro-repair research.  Despite the troubled economy and lack of funding, this is a very exciting time in the field of spinal cord injury research.  Numerous advancements have been made and clinical trials are beginning.  We are moving closer to therapies that have the potential to improve the lives of millions of people worldwide afflicted with paralysis.  This makes your 2009 donation to a SCIS runner more important than ever.  As always, your donation is tax-deductible and is a great way to get the most bang for your charitable buck as SCIS does not have any paid employees.
