Inspiration:
At 30 years of age, I'm proudly running my first marathon. I consider myself an average to below average runner at best. However, I trust that my heart and determination will guide me to the finish line. My reason for running with SCIS is due to the strong bond I felt with someone I have never met, Geoff Kent. My wife had the pleasure of knowing Geoff throughout our years at the University of Illinois, she tells me he was a phenomenal dancer. Geoff has risen above the challenges he had been harshly dealt and inspired others to reach beyond what they feel capable of. Training everyday for SCIS has forever changed my mindset. My goal in running this marathon is to raise awareness and funds that will help push others to live beyond their limitations and aid in finding a cure for spinal cord injuries.
