Support Rebecca Garrett in the 2008 Chicago Marathon
Rebecca Garrett
I am running the Chicago marathon this year not only to raise money for SCIS, but to also inspire others to lead happier and healthier lives. On October 12th, 2008, I will be inspired by and will be running for my niece (Lydia) who kicks a** every day on her 7th grade cross country and track team; my triplet nieces and nephew (James, Ella and Cameron) who came into this world struggling for their lives 11 weeks early and all under 3 lbs; and especially to support a friend (Geoff) and his will to walk again. I will begin my journey running in order to offer hope to those who have never walked and for those who have been told that they will never walk again. As James, Ella and Cameron begin their journey walking, each step they take reminds us all that miracles do occur and can come in tiny packages and small steps. So I will run 26.2 miles to support Geoff in his effort to take a new first step and in his overall cause to help so many others!
